Letter from President of Chamber Board of Directors
Dear Caswell County Community Members,
The impact of Covid-19 has been unlike anything our community has experienced in our lifetimes. Unfortunately, this pandemic continues to affect Caswell County and its residents at an alarming rate. After much deliberation and information from the Caswell County Manger’s office and the Caswell County Health Department regarding Caswell’s low vaccination and high transmission rates, the Caswell County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously in a special called meeting on August 26, 2021 to halt preparations for the September 2021 Bright Leaf Hoe Down.
We understand that our exhibitors, vendors, businesses, nonprofit agencies, and families are disappointed in the lost opportunity to connect with one another at this event. We are especially grateful for the work that Amanda Hodges, our Executive Director, and many volunteers put into the plans for this year’s festival. However, we believe we have acted in the best interest for Caswell County residents as well as our first responders and healthcare workers.
If your business or organization made plans to support the 2021 Bright Leaf Hoe Down as a vendor or performer, please contact Amanda Hodges at (336) 694-6106 or firstname.lastname@example.org for information regarding refunded payments.
