Caring in Caswell

As the baby boomers continue to age and need care in the final years, there is a greater demand for care for our elders.  Thankfully not all need to be in a nursing home and many desire to remain at home but need some additional assistance during the day to help with day-to-day activities. According to RuralHealthInfo.org, approximately 30% of older adults receive caregiving for health or reasons such as household chores or transportation, and adult children were the largest group of caregivers. When there are no adult children or the adult children are not close by or have other responsibilities and are not able to assist, the need for a home care service is required.

Enter, Royalty Adult & Pediatric Home Care.  Alicia Parker began the home care agency in 2013 in Rockingham County.  The need for the services they offer continued to grow and they found many in Caswell County needed their help too.  So in 2019, the decision was made to open a satellite office in Yanceyville so local people could be hired and have short commutes to and from work while also caring for those in need in the area.   Quentyn Pennix, the administrative assistant of the office, visited with the Chamber recently and shared how the new business has continued to grow here.

Quentyn is a young professional that got her start in the hospitality industry working at the front desk of a hotel in Atlanta.  She made a career change a few months ago and has not looked back.  She enjoys the slower pace of Yanceyville and loves the kindness of the people in the community.  Community is a big part of Royalty Care.  Their mission statement to provide quality care for aging and disabled clients allowing them to remain at home by supporting independence, dignity, and individualized care.

Quentyn shared that she is really enjoying the various aspects of the work in the business.  Her responsibilities include running the daily operations in the Yanceyville office.  She is also the key individual responsible for the outreach and public relations in order to get the word out about Royalty being in Caswell County.  You may have remembered seeing them in the parade back in 2019 where they first entered the scene here.  The organization has had no trouble obtaining new customers.  The greatest challenge is recruiting and hiring good employees.

Royalty hires Companions, Sitters, Experienced Caregivers, and CNAs on both part time and full-time basis.  They are also seeking a Client Care Coordinator (RN). There are positions open in Caswell and Rockingham County. Many of these roles are ideal for seniors that are seeking a part time opportunity to get outside of the house for a few hours while making extra spending money.

In addition to the care for the elderly, Royalty also has pediatric services as well as services for disabled patients.   If you are interested in being considered for an open position, please contact them at (336) 623-2547.
